2021 Vic Awards

It was an honour and a delight to receive two awards at this year's AILA VIC Awards. First, Reimagining Your Creek received an Award of Excellence in the Infrastructure category. Thanks to our collaborators Alluvium Consulting and E2 DesignLab.

Jury response: Reimagining Your Creek inverses the standard approach of considering the environment as a resource to be controlled and used by humans. The strategic thinking and strong concept has delivered a scalable and adaptable framework that has fostered a more equitable relationship between humans and the environment.

Wunggurrwil Dhurrung also received a Landscape Architecture Award in the Cultural Heritage category. Thanks to our collaborators Paul Thompson, E2DesignLab, Vicki Couzens, Gresley Abas, Greg Burgess and Philip Chun.

Jury response: Wunggurrwil Dhurrung is a project grounded in values, purpose and engagement. Restrained use of local materials, gives identity back to Country and Community. The outcome is an aesthetically beautiful project that connects current and future adjacent uses and demonstrates the ability to decolonise landscapes through the regeneration and re-establishing of habitat ensuring the self-determination of Country.
